Born and raised in Los Angeles, Jasmin began her career over 30 years ago as a hairstylist on movie sets and a personal stylist to celebrities in the entertainment industry. It was during this time that she discovered her passion for natural curls, becoming inspired by the philosophy of Ouidad, a haircare brand that celebrates curls. After moving to Austin, Texas, Jasmin founded Austin Curls, an Ouidad-certified salon, to bring her curl expertise to a wider audience. The salon's motto, "Keep Austin Curly," encourages Austinites to embrace the region's unique humidity and proudly wear their natural hair.
Jasmin is not only committed to promoting natural curls but also to sustainable practices and the use of natural products in her salon. She believes in challenging traditional beauty standards and promoting diversity and inclusivity. Motivated by the success of her team, she became an educator with Beauty By Imagination, the parent company of brands such as Ouidad, Wet Brush, and Bio Ionic, sharing her techniques with stylists across the industry.
