I am a marine biologist and molecular ecologist with a strong background in population genetics, transcriptomics, gene evolution, and environmental adaptation in harmful aquatic species. I earned my PhD in Marine Biology from SangMyung University, South Korea, under the Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) program, and I currently serve as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Institute of Natural Science, SangMyung University, Seoul.
My recent work focuses on using genomics and transcriptomics to investigate the evolution of saxitoxin-producing genes in dinoflagellates. I am particularly interested in understanding the evolutionary mechanisms that drive toxin production and adaptation in harmful algal bloom (HAB)-forming species. My research aims to reveal how these complex biosynthetic pathways have evolved across diverse environments and lineages.
